A Muay Thai Gym Builds Discipline and Community in SoMa
A Muay Thai gym in SoMa builds its foundation on discipline, process, and community.
Established in 2018, Woodenman Muay Thai teaches authentic Thai boxing through a practice that values consistency, self-understanding, and long-term growth.
Founders Jongsanan and Malia shaped the gym through years of training, competition, and shared experience. They built Woodenman around the idea that Muay Thai is not just a sport, but an ongoing process—one that strengthens both physical ability and personal awareness.
Inside, classes focus on fundamentals—striking, footwork, conditioning, and pad work—while reinforcing repetition and control. Coaches guide each session with intention, helping students develop technique while building confidence through steady progress.
The gym welcomes a wide range of experience levels. Beginners step into a supportive environment, while advanced students continue refining their practice. Each class creates a shared rhythm, where individual goals and group energy move together.
Woodenman extends beyond training. It creates a space where people return consistently, building routine, connection, and a deeper relationship with the practice over time.
As SoMa continues to evolve, places like this add another layer to the neighborhood’s daily rhythm—one grounded in movement, discipline, and a sense of belonging shaped through practice.
